          Mr. Tommy “Tom” Carroll Moore, age 76, (formerly of Chesterfield, SC) entered into rest on Wednesday, July 3, 2019. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 20, 2019 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Becky Burch and Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the Hurst Cemetery. Masonic Rites and Military Honors will be rendered during the committal service. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.


          Mr. Moore was born September 15, 1942 in Kannapolis, NC a son of the late Woodrow Moore and Frances Jenkins Moore Jordan. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the DAV. Mr. Moore retired with FEMA as Chief of Operations and was a member of First Baptist Church of Thomasville, GA. He was also a member of Hasan Shriner’s International and was a Mason and former member of Chesterfield Masonic Lodge 220. Tom enjoyed his retirement years from playing golf to working and pruning his rose garden, he simply enjoyed being outdoors.

          In addition to his parents, Mr. Moore was also preceded in death by 1 brother, Charles G. Jordan..


          Survivors include his wife, Linda Moore of Thomasville, GA; son, Dwayne (June) Moore of Chesterfield, SC; daughter, Debbie Pope of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Brandy Moore, Jason Cothron, Jordan Cothron, and Josh Cothron; brothers, A.D. Jordan of Charleston, SC, and Charles Moore of Ruby, SC; and sister, Rita Oliver of Chesterfield, SC.


          In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 950 W Faris Rd, Greenville, SC 29605.
