Mrs. Sue Brock Rivers, age 85, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Saturday, January 16, 2021 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the Hurst Cemetery. Friends and loved ones may stop by the funeral home between the hours of 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM on Friday, January 15, 2021 to view and pay their respects.

Due to the continued COVID-19 risks, we ask that you practice social distancing at all times and refrain from any physical contact. The family would like for all attending the service to please wear a face covering.

Mrs. Rivers was born July 13, 1935 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late Benjamin A. and Ida B. Brock. She was a retired employee of Chesterfield Manufacturing. Following her retirement, Sue enjoyed working in the deli at Piggly Wiggly and meeting new people. She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and a loving mother and grandmother. Sue had a special place in her heart for her cats, goats, and especially her dog, “Zoey.” Her hobbies included working crossword puzzles and watching family feud.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rivers was also preceded in death by her husband, Jessie S. Rivers; sister, Jesse Johnson; and brothers, Baxter, Pete, James, Lawson, Wilbur Lee, and Ben “Toby” Brock, Jr.

Survivors include her daughter, Julie (Stanton Shepherd) Stephens of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Carmen Rogers, Suzannah Rogers, and Austin Hucks; numerous nieces and nephews, and her fur baby, “Zoey.”
