Sandra Elaine Atkinson, 76, of Darlington passed away on August 3, 2022, in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Sandra was born July 20, 1946, in Columbia, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late, Ann and Lee Frankenberger. Sandra will be remembered by many as a quick-witted woman who enjoyed dancing, riding motorcycles, and traveling in her younger days, but slowed down a bit to enjoy flower gardening, puzzles, and card games. She was an avid reader and worked in multiple libraries later in life
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents and younger brother, Ricky Frankenberger, and her treasured Shihtzu of 18 years, Me-Ling. She is survived by her three devoted daughters, LeeAnn (Bill) Brown of Turbeville, Darlene (Dean) Coleman of Darlington, and Vickie (Max) Akremi of Prince George, Virginia. Also surviving are her seven grandchildren, Jade (Kelly) Silver, Chad (Misty) Roscoe, Taylor (Kaetlyne) Roscoe, Gwynn Coleman, Faron (Jonathan) Morris, Summer Freeman, and Whitney Freeman; and her twelve great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 8, 2022 at 11 AM at Emmanuel Baptist Church Cemetery in Camden, SC, directed by Kistler Hardee Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service. The family will be receiving friends at the home, 117 Coleman Drive, Darlington, SC 29532.
