Mr. Oscar Lee Parks, age 94, entered into rest on Monday, May 23, 2022. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Friday, May 27, 2022 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Reverend Grady Baskins, Dr. Steve West, and Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the Grace and Mercy Worship Center Cemetery (formerly Bethesda UMC Cemetery) The family will greet friends from 3:00 – 4:00 PM Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home. The funeral service will be live streamed from the Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Facebook page starting at 4:00 PM on Friday.

Mr. Parks was born September 9, 1927 in Laurinburg, NC a son of the late J.P. and Maggie Jacobs Parks. He retired from Burlington Industries with over 25 years of service and was a member of the Woodmen of the World Lodge 516. Lee was also a member of Cross Branch Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon for 24 years. He also enjoyed attending Pine View Baptist Church. A man who never met a stranger, Lee always had a story to tell and a joke to share. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, and following NASCAR racing.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Parks was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Violet Crowley Parks; daughter, Barbara P. Lowery; infant son, Ricky Parks; and siblings, Lindsey Parks, Albert Parks, Marjorie Parks, and Johnny Parks.

Survivors include his son, Ronnie L. (Gale) Parks of Peyton, CO; son-in-law, Michael Reece Lowery of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Brad Easterling of Hartsville, SC, Ron (Lacie) Parks of Loveland, CO, Brian (Angie) Parks of Pueblo, CO, Michael Lowery of Oakboro, NC, and Nichole (Chad) Clontz of Monroe, NC; 18 great grandchildren; 12 great – great grandchildren; sister, Betty Lou (Vaden) Freeman of Chesterfield, SC; sister of the heart, Doris Deese of Patrick, SC; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and administration of Cheraw Healthcare for the excellent love and care shown to Mr. Parks and his family over the past 4 years.
