Elise was born May 16, 2019 in Hartsville, SC the beautiful daughter of Lyndsey Raven Abernethy and Brandon James McQueen. A gift from God who had a larger-than-life, vibrant personality, Elise’s smile could light up the darkest room. Shortly after her first birthday, Elise would be diagnosed with Hepatoblastoma (liver cancer) and begin her valiant fight. In spite of all she faced, that beautiful smile and sassy personality would always shine brighter than any dreaded treatment she would face. Throughout her fight and against all odds, she never complained about feeling bad and was ALWAYS happy.

Elise loved her bright colors and her favorite songs were the Baby Shark Dance Song and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Although her life on earth spanned only 2 years, the overwhelming impact she had on her family and staff of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital will be enduring. She was preceded in death by a maternal great grandfather, Harry “Pete” Franklin Hendrix.

Those left to cherish her beautiful memory include her mother, Lyndsey Raven Abernethy and fiancé, Alexis Paige McKay and her immediate family; father, Brandon James McQueen of Memphis, TN; maternal grandparents, Sherri Hendrix (Danny) Dixon of Chesterfield, SC; paternal grandparents, Alesia Dyer (Paul) McQueen of Olive Branch, TN; maternal great grandparents, Carolyn Perdue of Cheraw, SC, and Timothy Raymond of Georgetown, SC; paternal great grandparents, Annie (Paul) McQueen of Cheraw, SC, and Joyce Dyer of Memphis, TN; maternal uncle, Elijah “Eli” Dixon; paternal uncles, Garrett, Justin, Ryan, and Jason McQueen, paternal aunt, Erica McQueen; cousins, Jayren McQueen, and Kyla McQueen; aunt of the heart, Katie Kerns and her immediate family; and special family friends, Megan Brown, and family.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and administration of St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN for their exceptional care and treatment not only to Elise but also her family.
