Mrs. Mildred P. “Millie” Newton, age 93, entered into rest on Wednesday, June 5, 2019. Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, June 9, 2019 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Pastor Randy Bishop with burial to follow in Sunset Memorial Park of Bennettsville. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Saturday, June 8, 2019 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Newton was born June 1, 1926 in Pageland, SC a daughter of the late Clayton and Ola Griggs Price She was a retired Lab Technician from Abbott Labs with 18 years of service and a member of Chesterfield Baptist Church. Millie was a devoted Christian lady who loved the Lord and her family. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was known for her meticulous house cleaning. Millie also enjoyed working in her flowers and being outdoors.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Newton was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, James G. “Jim” Newton; brothers, George and Lonnie Price; and sisters, Vonzill P. Oliver, Gladys P. Hancock, Emma P. Kirkley, Nell P. Sutton, Susie P. Brock, Blanche P. Oliver, and Maude P. Demby.

Survivors include her step-daughters, Sandra McMasters and Betsy Thomas both of Ormond Beach, FL; 3 step grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews including special niece and caregiver, Kay (Thomas) Knight.

The family is grateful to the staff of Chesterfield Convalescent Center and long-time caregiver, Michaela Mills for the love and care shown to Mrs. Newton.
