March 13, 1943 - August 19, 2019

Johnny "JJ"  Ingram, 76, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away Monday, August 19, 2019, peacefully in his home. Born in Sumter, South Carolina, on March 13, 1943, he was the son of the late Johnnie and Carrie Bryan Ingram.

He graduated from Chesterfield High School and went on to obtain degrees from both Stanly Community College and Central Piedmont. Johnny served six years in the Army National Guard with an honorable discharge.

A man of great character and tremendous work ethic, JJ loved his job and his Technocom family. He worked as a Photocopy Technician for many years, earning numerous awards and accolades for his dedication and enthusiastic spirit. He only retired, within the last three weeks, when his declining health forced him to do so.

Johnny was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church where he enjoyed friendship and fellowship with his church family. He served as an usher, participated in Sunday School, and helped where needed in the Church Office.

Johnny loved his Carolina Panthers, golf, robots, and the television show Robot Wars.

Always the biggest smile in the room, and a laugh as big as his heart, Johnny, was truly a light to everyone he ever met. A humble soul known for saying, I am who I am. Johnny loved life and lived it with his family in mind.

Johnny is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Annie Lou Corky, his son John (Tascha), his daughter Angelia Kristina Cook (Dwayne), his treasured grandchildren Andrew, Alden, and Addie Cook, his step-father and step-mother Jack JB and Evelyn Campbell, his brother Jerry Campbell, his sister-in-law Frances Trexler Goodnight (Ronald), his Aunt Louise Newman Smith, his fur baby Sheba, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his sister Jackie Campbell Jenkins and her husband Rob, and his sister-in-law Mary Virginia Rufty.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1900 The Plaza, Charlotte, North Carolina 28205 with Johnny's dear Pastor, the Rev. Emily Hartner, as Presiding Minister. Visitation and lunch for family and friends will follow in the fellowship hall.
