James Michael "Mike" Smith

Mr. James Michael “Mike” Smith, age 69, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 16, 2020.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Smith was born December 10, 1950, in Lockhart, SC, a son of the late James (Jimmy) Smith and Sarah Griggs Smith.  Mike enjoyed being the owner and operator of Turkey Creek Campground in Almond, NC, with his wife, Ramelle.  Mike was known for his quiet, yet loving manner throughout his life.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Tony F. Smith and Daryll S. Smith; nephew, Michael K. Huckabee; and niece, Darcie L. Shoemaker.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 43 years, Ramelle McMillian Smith, and their dog, Huey; brothers, Charles “Sonny” Smith (Jo) of Simpsonville, SC, and David (Jackie) Smith of Cullowhee, NC; sisters, Gail Smith Lynch (Richard) of Austin TX, Debbie Smith Wilkerson of Ruby, SC, Kathy Smith Sims (Chip) of Darlington, SC, and Angie Smith of Ruby, SC; also numerous nieces and nephews.
