Mrs. Hannah Lou Funderburk Adams, age 86, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 25, 2020. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, March 28, 2020 at David’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery by Brent Taylor. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the cemetery and other times at the home of Bill Tarlton, 64 West Main Street, Ruby, SC.
Mrs. Adams was born February 20, 1934 in Pageland, SC a daughter of the late Isaac Theodore and Carrie Melton Funderburk. She was a retired employee of Chesterfield Manufacturing and a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. Mrs. Adams enjoyed working in her yards, taking care of her pets, and working crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Mrs. Hannah held the title of “Bingo Queen” at Rehabilitation Center of Cheraw.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Adams was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Gerald “Jerry” Adams, Sr.; daughter, Geraldine “Dean” Brasington; sons-in-law, Michael Timothy Knight and Eugene “Gene” Brasington; and brothers, Carl, Ray, Fairly, Joe, J.T., Chester, Ben, Theodore, and Norman Funderburk.
Survivors include her son, Thomas “Tommy” Gerald Adams, Jr. of Chesterfield, SC; daughters, Jacqueline “Jackie Sue” Adams Knight of Lugoff, SC, Kathleen “Kathy” Adams (Stephen) Tarlton of Ruby, SC; grandchildren, Brian (Amanecer Cortes) Adams of Mexico, Matthew (Keely) Adams of Cayce, SC, Cory Adams of Chesterfield, SC, Kellie Knight of Camden, SC, and Kassi Tarlton of Columbia, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews including Mitchell (Sandra) Funderburk of Pageland, SC.
The family would like to thank the staff of The Rehabilitation Center of Cheraw (formerly Chesterfield Convalescent) for the excellent love and care shown to Mrs. Adams and her family. Also, a special thank you to long-time friend Dot Welch for her friendship and faithfulness to visit.
