Rev. Dr. Roger Lee Ray of Community Christian Church (Springfield, Missouri) will officiate. Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home is caring for the family.

Mr. Plyler passed away on Wednesday, August 12. Born in Jefferson, SC, he was the son of the late Nettie Oliver Plyler & Joseph Aaron Plyler.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dianne Sweatt Plyler of McBee, SC; by a daughter, Dr. Nicole (Scott) Fisk of Holly Hill, SC; grandchildren, Arina Fisk and Jack Fisk of Holly Hill, SC; brother-in-law, Thomas E. Sweatt, Jr., of McBee, SC; and siblings Carolyn P. Riley from Sparta, Nevada; Virginia P. Pope from Wingate, NC; Donald (Linda) Plyler from Jefferson, SC; David (Elaine) Plyler from Kershaw, SC; Shirley (Kenny) Byrd from North Myrtle Beach, SC; and Thomas (Pam) Plyler from Jefferson, SC; as well as many nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was a self-employed contractor for over twenty years; a member of the SC National Guard; and served on Chesterfield County Council for fourteen years.

The family would like to thank, with utmost appreciation and gratitude, his caregivers, Tommy and Renee Sims, Michelle Boyle, and McLeod Hospice staff for their loving care and support.
