Forrest Baxter "Bub" White, Jr.

Chesterfield, SC

Mr. Forrest Baxter “Bub” White, Jr., age 74, entered into rest Wednesday, January 9, 2019 with his family by his bedside. Graveside services will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Shiloh United Methodist Church by Pastor Fred McDaniel. The family will greet friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM Tuesday, prior to the service in the fellowship hall of Shiloh United Methodist Church.

Mr. White was born November 21, 1944 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late Forrest Baxter White, Sr. and Vandelia Hunter White. He was a retired mail carrier with the Chesterfield Post Office and following his retirement, enjoyed working at Stephenson’s Hardware. A member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, Bub was a former Sunday school teacher and a member of the Shiloh Men’s Club. He was also a member of the Chesterfield Masonic Lodge #220.

Mr. White was former President of the Chesterfield Dixie Youth and enjoyed his time coaching for many years. He was also a former member of the Chesterfield Civitan Club. His favorite pastime was “tinkering” in woodwork.

In addition to his parents, Bub was also preceded in death by 2 sons, David Carlyle White and Forrest “Buck” White, III; sisters, Van Sanders and Jenny Brock; and infant granddaughter, Huntley Sophia White.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 53 years, Bernadine D. White of the home; son, Dennis White of Chesterfield, SC; daughter, Tamela “Tami” White (Richard) Grice of Wallace, SC; daughter-in-law, Leigh Ann White of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Amber Grice, Bradley Grice, Krystan White, Ashtan White, Carlyle White, Abigail White, Emerson White; and sister, Louise "Dooley" Quick of Cheraw, SC.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of McLeod Hospice House and to long-time family friend, Krista Lambert of Regency SouthernCare Hospice for the love and care shown to Mr. White and his family.
