Mr. Knight was born May 9, 1956, in Lancaster, SC, a son of the late J. Miller and Annie Grace Mobley Knight. He worked for many years in the lumber industry. Danny once enjoyed riding motorcycles, and he was a member of Jefferson Church of God.

Survivors include his wife, Elma Kirkley Knight of the home; daughters, Valerie Knight of Charlotte, NC, and Candace Richar of Jefferson, NC; brothers, Jerry (Sandra) Knight of Kershaw, SC, Bobby Knight of Kershaw, SC, and Keith (Linda) Knight of Lancaster, SC; sisters, Dot Sims of Heath Springs, SC, Jo Ann Hamond of Heath Springs, SC, and Sue (David) Sullivan of Kershaw, SC.
