Azilee Odom Cason

Mrs. Azilee Odom Cason, age 89, entered into rest on Friday, January 15, 2021. A private family graveside will be on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 by Brent Taylor. All online condolences will be forwarded to the family.

Mrs. Azilee was born September 20, 1931 in Darlington County, a daughter of the late Shelley Henry and Eva Weatherford Odom. She was a retired cafeteria worker at Robert Smalls Elementary School in Cheraw. Mrs. Cason loved serving the Lord and was a faithful member of Westside Baptist Church and loved her Sunday school class. She was a humble servant throughout the years. Azilee loved everyone and always had a smile on her face. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, and friend. Always thinking of others, “To know her, was to love her”. Mrs. Cason enjoyed the simple things in life and enjoyed spending time with her beloved sister-in-law, Rebecca Chapman and her friends, Winona and Karen.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cason was also preceded in death by her husband, Furman Cason, sons; Larry Cason, Christopher Cason, Rex Cason; grandchild, Emily Rushing; brothers, Henry Odom, Ronnie Odom, William Odom, Frank Odom; infant sister, Linda Odom; daughter-in-law, Veronica Leviner Cason; son-in-law, Rev. Jerry Rushing.

Survivors include her children; Connie Rushing of Ruby, SC, Casey (Bob) Davis of Sevierville, TN; grand-children; John Cason of Florence, SC, Matthew (Becky) Cason of Society Hill, SC, April (Joey) Quick of Cheraw, SC, Rex (Olivia) Cason II of Gulf Breeze, FL, Bryan Cason of Pensacola, FL, Heather of Pensacola, FL, Jeffrey Rushing of Ruby, SC, Briana Rushing of Bennettsville, SC; 8 great-grandchildren;  brother, Jimmy (Kathy) Odom of Greenville, SC; sister, Marjorie McInville of Hartsville, SC; numerous nieces and nephews.
