Mrs. Annelle Freeman Demby, age 84, entered into rest on Thursday, October 22, 2020. A Celebration of her beautiful life will be 2:00 PM Sunday, October 25, 2020 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Pastor Billy Jack Johnson and Brent Taylor with the eulogy being delivered by her brother, Joe Freeman. The committal service will follow in the Zoar United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.

Due to the continued COVID-19 restrictions, we ask that you practice social distancing at all times. The family would like for all attending the service to please wear a face covering. Due to these challenging and uncertain times, the family respectfully requests no visitors at their homes.

Mrs. Demby was born October 1, 1936 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late Carey Franklin and Nevelyn Eddins Freeeman. She was a former employee of Martin’s Jewelry Store of Cheraw, and the retired owner and operator of Demby’s Washerette. A faithful member of Zoar United Methodist Church, Annelle was a member of the U.M.W., Sunday school class #9, and shared her talents each season decorating the interior of the church.

Mrs. Demby was a member of the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce, and was the recipient of the W.D. Craig Lifetime Service award. Annelle enjoyed gardening, growing beautiful flowers, and decorating her home for each holiday. She was a renowned cook who enjoyed baking cakes and gifting them. A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mrs. Demby was a true matriarch of her family.

In addition to her parents, Annelle was reunited in heaven with her late husband, Everett E. Demby, Sr.; son, Everett E. Demby, II; grandson, Elijah Demby; son-in-law, Michael Walden; brothers, Thomas Freeman, David Harold Freeman, Emsley “Tunnie” Freeman; and sister-in-law, Bobby Freeman.

Survivors include her 2 children, Tammy Davis of Chesterfield, SC, and Jennifer (Eric) Gaskins of Ruby, SC; grandchildren, Colie (Nedra) Davis of Chesterfield, SC, Callie Quick of Hartsville, SC, Hazee Demby of Chesterfield, SC, and Layla Gaskins of Ruby, SC; great grandchildren, Emma Colf, Noah Colf, Sophia Davis, and Llewyn Davis; brother whom she shared a special bond with, Joe (Alice) Freeman of Florence, SC; daughter-in-law, Krista D. Lambert of Chesterfield, SC; sisters-in-law, Annie Freeman of Pageland, SC, and Donna Freeman of Chesterfield, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
