Mr. Wayne Lindsey, age 56, entered into rest on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 20, 2024 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Bro. Ricky Malloy and Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the Mount Croghan Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Monday, February 19, 2024 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.
Mr. Lindsey was born November 10, 1967 in Monroe, NC a son of John E. “Johnny” Lindsey and the late Bonnie Jordan Lindsey. He was a 1986 graduate of Central High School and completed his police officer training from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy in 1995. His career as a police officer spanned over 20 years as he worked with both the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office and the Town of Chesterfield Police Department. He grew up attending First Freewill Baptist Church of Pageland, where he enjoyed singing and worshipping the Lord with his family. Wayne also enjoyed reading, studying, and preaching God’s word. His hobbies included drag racing, tinkering on old cars, fishing, and hunting with his father. Some of his best memories were made camping at the beach with his children, grandchildren, and parents.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Crystal Jordan Lindsey of the home; children, Justin Lindsey of Cheraw, SC, and Anna Lindsey (Stacy) McManus of Pageland, SC; grandchildren, Ava & Brantlee McManus, and Sawyer & Davis Lindsey; father, Johnny E. Lindsey of Mt. Croghan, SC; brothers, Timmy (Donna) Lindsey of Ruby, SC, and Rev. Kenneth (Cindy) Lindsey of Chesterfield, SC; sister, Samantha (Dustin) Ricketts; sisters-in-law, Elaine Wiggins of Cheraw, SC, Jackie (Nathan) Barrett of Kershaw, SC and Marian (Chuck) Warner of Troy, NC; nieces and nephews, Kerri (Matt) Davis, Kayla (Chris) Thompson, and Jordan Ricketts, and Nathan Ricketts; great niece, Lily; and great nephew, Christian.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to hospice nurses Kristen Sellers, Madison Sellers, and the entire staff of Gentiva Hospice of Chesterfield for their excellent care and support provided to Wayne and the family.
