Timothy Earl "Tim" Griffis

Chesterfield, SC

Timothy Earl Griffis, 58, went to meet his Lord and Savior March 4, 2026 after a long illness with his family at his bedside.

Tim was a native of Jenkins County and lived in Chesterfield, SC with his wife of 30 years, Laura Lea (Tant) Griffis. He was a loving and caring father. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He loved being outdoors in nature, fishing, tending to his goats, restoring old cars and watching Nascar.

Tim worked in Charlotte, NC as project superintendent on many buildings, some adding to the skyline of the city. He touched the hearts of all who knew him with love, kindness and cherished memories. He will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Emery Earl Griffis.

Survivors include his wife, Laura Lea Tant Griffis; son, Bradley Griffis (Sommer); 2 grandchildren, Madyson and Hadyen; mother, Judy B. Boone (Walter); brother, Kenny E. Griffis (Sherry); sister, Laura A. Bayless (Matthew) and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Habersham Methodist Church in Perkins, GA. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am with the Reverend John Drake and Reverend Jose Velasquez officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
