Teresa Darlene Baskins

Mrs. Teresa Darlene Baskins, age 58, known affectionately as Darlene, passed away on December 3, 2025, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 8, 2025 in the chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home with Dr. Kenneth Lynch and Reverend Dean Parker officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 8, 2025, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. 

Born on August 31, 1967 in Pinehurst, NC, Darlene was a daughter of Leonard Johnson and the late Dahrl C. Bittle. Mrs. Baskins is remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished by all who knew her. She was a graduate of Chesterfield High School, class of 1985 and went on to work as a waitress and in customer service at Walmart. Mrs. Baskins was known as “Mama Darlene” to many children throughout the years; but her fondest titles were "Mimi" to her grandchildren and "Nana" to her youngest granddaughter, Tessa. She enjoyed shopping and trips to the beach and lighthouses.

Mrs. Baskins was preceded in death by her mother listed above, maternal grandparents, Roy C. and Virgia Dunn Cooke; and step maternal grandparents, Bill and Audrey Straton; paternal grandparents, Curtis C. and Ethel Johnson; brother, John R. Bittle; and also 3 “angel babies”, with whom she is now reunited.

Survivors include her husband of over 39 years, Clifton E. Baskins of the home; children, Ashley (Carl) Presnell of Hartsville, SC; Trinity (Greg) Zimmer of Wallace, SC; Mya F. Gaskins of the home; and many children of the heart, whom she loved as her own; grandchildren, Hailey Crump, Carla Presnell, Tessa Zimmer; father, Leonard (Julie) Johnson; siblings, Len Johnson, Lacee Watford, Jessica Johnson; in addition to numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family expresses their appreciation to the nurses of Prisma Health Richland Hospital for their exceptional care of Mrs. Baskins.
