Temple Bell Gulledge Teal

Cheraw, SC

          Mrs. Temple Bell Gulledge Teal, age 95, entered into rest on Thursday, March 7, 2024 with her family by her side. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, March 10, 2024 at Pine Grove Baptist Church by Pastor Mark Phillips with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM Sunday, prior to the service at the church.

          Mrs. Teal was born April 30, 1928 in Patrick, SC a daughter of the late Harley William and Sarah Jane Brock Gulledge. She was a faithful member of Pine Grove Baptist Church where she served on various committees through the years and enjoyed teaching children. Temple Bell enjoyed working, gardening, and growing strawberries. She was the matriarch of her family and nothing brought her more joy than being called “Grandma.”

          In addition to her parents, Mrs. Teal was also preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Teal; daughter, Robin Teal; son, Richard Thomas Teal; granddaughter, Elizabeth Renee Teal; brothers, Leo, Devoide, James, and Charles Gulledge; sisters, Bessie Gulledge, Catherine Brock, Louise Adams, Viola Crowley, and Nora Crowley.

          Survivors include her children, Devoide (Mary) Teal, Jimmy (Sharon) Teal of Cheraw, SC, and Ann Teal of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Edward (Marsha) Teal of Cheraw, SC, Sarah Teal of Greenville, SC, John Teal of Easley, SC, William (Erin) Teal of Pageland, SC, Angela (Johnny Frazier) Teal of Cheraw, SC, Roger Teal of Cheraw, SC, Michelle (Randall) Hancock of Ruby, SC, Andy Morris of Chesterfield, SC; and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Penny Teal.

          She is also survived by great grandchildren, MacKenzie, Logan, Maverick, Megan, Briana, Micah, Trevor, Christian, Blake, Angelina, Miranda, and Shelby; 4 great-great grandchildren; in addition to generations of nieces and nephews.

          The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the administration and staff of Cheraw Healthcare, and Agape Hospice for the excellent care and love provided to Mrs. Temple Bell.
