Mt. Croghan, SC
Mrs. Tameca Covington Joines, age 47, went home to be with the Lord on Monday morning, October 5, 2026, surrounded by her family at the McLeod Hospice House. The Celebration of Life Homegoing Service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Black Creek Missionary Baptist Church with the Reverend Antonio Little officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM Thursday, prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Joines was born August 11, 1979, in Cheraw, SC a daughter of Dorothy Morgan Covington and the late James Frank Covington. She was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1998, and furthered her education at Northeastern Technical College in Cheraw, SC. Mrs. Joines found her passion and calling in life of teaching young children. She served as a pre-school teacher at South Pointe Christian School (formerly New Covenant Christian School) of Pageland with over 20 years of service. Mrs. Joines was a faithful member of Word of Life Fellowship Church in Cheraw where she was very active in the children’s ministries. A dedicated Christian lady, Tameca was a faithful prayer warrior who loved the Lord, His word, and serving others. Her hobbies included shopping, particularly clothes and shoes. Above all, she cherished her role as "Me-Me" and "Maw-Maw" to her precious grandchildren.
Tameca now rejoins her father and grandbaby, Cierra Sturdivant, in heavenly peace.
Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Billy DeWayne Joines, Jr. of the home; daughters, Lanikqua Kerria “NeNe” Joines, and Shanikqua Cierra “KeKe” Joines both of Mt. Croghan, SC; mother, Dorothy Morgan Covington of Pageland, SC; grandchildren, Kaydan Joines, Braydis Sturdivant, and soon to be arriving, Kavari Sturdivant; sisters, Makesha Hardesty (Richard), Joey Covington (Keisha), and Joseph Tate all of Charlotte, NC, and Capricia Covington Gaither of Pageland, SC; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
We give thanks to God for the gift of Mrs. Tameca Covington Joines life, her light, and her enduring legacy. We remember her life verse she would often share, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” (Phillipians 4:13, and her favorite response that became reality early Monday morning, “ALL IS WELL!”
Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home of Chesterfield, SC is serving the Joines family.
