Tamara "Tammy" Boone Caldwell

Chesnee, SC

          Ms. Tamara “Tammy” Boone Caldwell, age 60, entered into rest on Thursday, January 5, 2023. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Jefferson Cemetery by Reverend  Danny Phillips, Brent Taylor and Emily Lavender Blanton. The family will greet friends immediately following at the cemetery.

          A Celebration of Life Service will be held for local family and friends in the Spartanburg area in the coming weeks. The service details will be announced in due course.

          Ms. Caldwell was born July 11, 1962 in Monroe, NC a daughter of Reverend Billy R. and Ruby J. Boone. She was a 1980 graduate of Central High School and received her Bachelors in Education from USC Upstate. Tammy went on to attain her Master’s degree and EdS in Advanced Studies from Converse College. Over her career, Ms. Caldwell served as a dedicated elementary school teacher for many years, and would go on to serve as the assistant principal of Woodruff Primary School. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg, and enjoyed playing the piano. Tammy enjoyed cooking and had a special place in her heart for her dogs. Her greatest accomplishment in life was being “Mi-Mi” to her grandchildren.

          Survivors include her children, Jon Matthew (Briana) Phillips of Gaffney, SC, and Hannah (Trevor) Anderson of Boiling Springs, SC; and their father, Danny Phillips of Gaffney, SC; grandchildren, Gabriel, Ada, Amelia, Kristjan “Boonie,” and Abram; parents, Reverend Billy & Ruby Boone of Gaffney, SC; sister, Sharon Boone (Kevin Bradshaw) Lavender of Gaffney, SC; special friend, Ron Caldwell of Boiling Springs, SC and his children, Lindsey Caldwell, and Grayson Caldwell; and niece, Emily Lavender (Brandon) Blanton of Gaffney, SC.
