Sylvia Stafford Polson

Mrs. Sylvia Stafford Polson, age 87, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 30, 2022. Funeral services will be 1 O’clock, Friday February 4, 2022 at First Southern Methodist Church by Rev. Jack Jarrett with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Polson will lay in state from 12:00-1:00 PM on Friday at the church prior to the service for anyone wishing to pay their respects.

The family asks that anyone attending the services wear a mask or face covering both inside and at the graveside.

Mrs. Polson was born June 23, 1934 in Cheraw, SC a daughter of the late Harris Stafford and Lola Rainwater Stafford. Sylvia was an active member of First Southern Methodist Church in Cheraw. She enjoyed going on walks, reading, and loved azaleas. Sylvia's greatest passions were sewing and quilting.

In addition to her parents, Sylvia was also preceded in death by her husband, Otis Polson; sisters, Melinda Stafford and Dorothy Harpe; and daughter-in-law, Kim White Polson.

Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia (Harold) Moore of Greer, SC; sons, Joey (Terri) Polson of Cheraw, SC and Bryan Polson of Cheraw, SC; grandchildren; Kevin (Bethel) Moore of Boiling Green, KY, Jared (Lisa) Moore of Asheville, NC, Joe (Jessie) Polson of Everett, Massachusetts, Caroline (Dylan) Bartell of Lexington, SC, and Maddie (Josh) McMillan of Landstuhl, Germany; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard (Margaret) Stafford of Cheraw, SC; sister, Julia Davis of Cheraw, SC; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation 13770 Noel Road, Suite 801889, Dallas, TX 75380.
