Ms. Susan Stafford Davis, age 61, entered into rest on Sunday, July 20, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at 4:00 PM by Pastor Jamie Gulledge and Brent Taylor. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at the funeral home.
Susan was born July 15, 1964 in Cheraw, SC, a daughter of Steve and Mary Alice Stafford. She graduated from Chesterfield High School, Class of 1982, where she was the High School Softball MVP in 1979.She also attended NETC of Cheraw where she earned a certificate in CNA. She graduated on December 23, 2014 from Miller-Motte College with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Electronic Medical Records.
Susan had a gift for entertaining people and was often the heart of any gathering. Her last job was at the Early Riser Diner in Myrtle Beach where she worked until her health declined. Her previous employers included Employment Staffing & Employment Partners of Myrtle Beach, where she served as the office manager; as well as, Hire R Us, serving as Branch Manager in Myrtle Beach, SC. Susan was a member of Brock’s Mill Baptist Church of Cheraw, SC. Susan was a fun-loving soul who loved adventure. She enjoyed beach trips and spending time by the ocean. She also enjoyed riding her Harley Davidson, which brought her a sense of thrill and freedom. Known as a compassionate caregiver, she served as the community’s caregiver to many elderly residents, often taking them to doctor’s appointments and providing companionship when they needed it most.
Susan was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Leon and Addie Rivers Stafford; maternal grandparents Kermit and Alice Cheves; and granddaughter Alaina Brooke Quick; as well as her former husband, Joy Jerome Davis.
She is survived by her parents listed above, her daughters Brooklyn Quick of Wallace, SC, and Farrah Brianna Lewis (Alex) of Cheraw, SC; sons Kyle Davis (Toni) of Conway, SC, and Braden Patterson of the home.
She was a proud grandmother to 9 grandchildren: Cameron Goins, Caden Quick, Madilyn Quick of Wallace, S.C., Liam, Amelia Kate, and Collins Lewis of Cheraw, SC, and Layla, Emery, and Indy Davis of Conway, SC.
She is also survived by her brother Steve “Mike” (Diane) Stafford of Wallace, S.C.; special friend Billy Ray Curtis, Jr.; and her loving extended family—Stacy, Jennie, Michelle and Shane Hewitt, Thomas, Jimmy, Sandra, and her special aunt Barbara Ann Hewitt. She also leaves behind numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles.
The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to all of Susan's friends and family members who helped care for her during her courageous battlewith cancer as well as the staff of Crescent Hospice of Myrtle Beach and Bennettsville.
