Susan King Felts

Chesterfield, SC

          Mrs. Susan King Felts, age 66, entered into rest on Monday, June 19, 2023 at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, June 24, 2023 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Pastor Fred McDaniel, Nathan Gardner, and Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday, June 23, 2023 at the funeral home.

          Mrs. Felts was born December 24, 1956 in Wadesboro, NC a daughter of the late Hubert Carvin and Rachel Robeson King. She was a 1975 graduate of Chesterfield High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health & Human Services in the first Bachelor of Arts program from Wingate (College) University in 1979. Susan’s first job was working with DSS in Monroe, NC for 8 years. They moved back to Chesterfield in 1987 when she was employed with the Farm Service Agency for 32 years of loyal service. This agency works with farmers and land owners to sign up for government programs. She retired in August 2019 and returned to work part-time in January 2020 with Chesterfield Soil & Water Conservation District.

          Mrs. Felts was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church and a former member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. Susan enjoyed cross stitching and working puzzles. She also enjoyed traveling with her family and spending time at their place in Rocks Pond Campground in Santee where she and Don developed many close friendships.

          In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Don. Survivors include her children, Elizabeth (Chris) Cook of Shickshinny, PA, and James (Heather) Felts of Ruby, SC; grandchildren, Cari Chavis, Gabe Chavis, Mason Felts, Rylie Felts; siblings, Tommy (Jackie) King of Eatonton, GA, Steve (Debbie) King of Chesterfield, SC, John (Susan) King of Chesterfield, SC; brothers-in-law,  Dennis (Lauren) Felts of Titusville, FL, Doug (Rita) Felts of Denver, NC, David (Chelsey) Felts of Mineral Springs, NC; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
