FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel
INTERMENT: will follow in the Chesterfield Cemetery
VISITATION: 10:00 - 11:00 AM Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home
HISTORY: Mr. Benton was born July 4, 1954 in Ft. Bragg, NC a son of Paul Lester and Velma Elizabeth Smith Benton. He was a graduate of Chesterfield High School and attended Chesterfield-Marlboro TEC, and was a former textile employee. Steve was a member of Chesterfield Baptist Church and was a Mason. He was a former assistant coach with Dixie Youth Baseball. Steve was an avid Clemson Tiger fan, and enjoyed fishing and nascar racing.
