Shirley Brock Barnes

Chesterfield, SC 

 Ms. Shirley Anne Brock Barnes, age 78, entered into rest on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Cheraw Healthcare. The family will hold a memorial service to celebrate her life at a later date.

Ms. Barnes was born August 16, 1946 in Chesterfield, SC, a daughter of the late Samuel Walker and Bessie Leona Pressley Brock. She was a former employee of Curtis Mini-Mart for many years. Shirley enjoyed the outdoors, working in her flowers, fishing, and watching butterflies. She had a special place in her animals, especially her cats. 

In addition to her parents, Ms. Barnes was also preceded in death by her daughter, Paula Annette Barnes; brothers, Vernon, Harold, and William Brock; sisters, Mary Louise Terry, and Bernice Joplin; and sister-in-law, Ivy Brock.

Survivors include her sons, William B. “Billy” Barnes Jr. (Maria Julia) of Cheraw, SC, and Stanley “Stan” M. Barnes of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Patrick Michael Barnes, Jessica Anne Arnold (Dan Marci), and Christopher Lynn Barnes (Melissa); great grandchildren, Remmington, Waylon, and Emily.
