Sheldon Hunter Moree

Jefferson, SC - It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Sheldon Hunter Moree, age 25, beloved husband of Kylie Sims Moree, who left us on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

A private funeral service will be held, officiated by his wife’s grandfather, Reverend Johnny Sims. Sheldon will be laid to rest next to his grandparents at the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.

During this time of mourning, the family invites friends to gather at the homes of Sheldon and Kylie, as well as at the residence of his mother, Donna, and Lynn Oliver, both located in Jefferson.

Sheldon was born on December 27, 2000, in Columbia, SC, to Steven Moree and Donna Thompson Oliver. He was a graduate of Central High School’s Class of 2019, where he enjoyed a notable love for Eagles football that began when he was just 7 years old. Sheldon was a dedicated and hardworking individual, starting his journey in the family business, Carolina Well Drilling, as soon as he obtained his driver’s license. Though he might have arrived a little late to work occasionally, his commitment to his job was unwavering.

An avid Ford Mustang enthusiast, Sheldon had a passion for Fox Body Mustangs and spent countless hours “piddling” on his classic cars. His faith was an important aspect of his life; he cherished attending Center Grove Baptist Church with his wife and family. On November 1, 2025, he married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Kylie Sims Moree. Sheldon took great pride in the life they were building together, and Kylie affectionately described him as a "big softy" with a laid-back personality, who never approached life too serious. Though he had a reputation for rarely being on time, he would always blame that on Kylie, further reflecting the incredible bond they shared.

Sheldon was known for his selfless and humble spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand without seeking recognition. He served as a great role model, big brother, and protector to his brothers and sisters.

Sheldon was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Betty and Buster Thompson; and his paternal grandfather, Arlie Moree.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Kylie Sims Moree; his mother, Donna (Lynn) Oliver of Jefferson; father, Steven (Greta) Moree of Pageland, SC; grandmother, Dianne Moree of Jefferson, SC; brothers, Kristopher Moree, E.J. Threatt, and Landon Threatt, all of Pageland, SC; sisters, Carley Moree of Jefferson, SC, and Maddie (Colton) Oxford of Pageland, SC, and their daughter, Carsyn Oxford; as well as his cherished “4-legged children,” June and Possum.

In honoring Sheldon’s love for children and his dedication to protecting their well-being, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Connie Maxwell Children’s Home, located at 212 Zoar Road, Chesterfield, SC 29709.
