Scott Blaine Rutan

Mr. Scott Blaine Rutan entered into rest on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at the age of 63. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Thursday, September 24, 2026 at Pine Grove Baptist Church by Pastor Mark Phillips with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:00-3:00 PM prior to the service in the church sanctuary.

Mr. Rutan was born August 11, 1963 in Pittsfield, MA the son of Rose Anne Shinkle Rutan and the late Preacher Tom Rutan. Scott was a hardworking and dedicated man who spent more than 30 years behind the wheel as a truck driver. An avid outdoorsman, Scott especially enjoyed hunting and spending time in nature. In his younger years, he loved playing baseball and basketball. As the years went by, his love of sports continued as he enjoyed watching games and cheering on the Clemson Tigers, Carolina Panthers, and St. Louis Cardinals. When he wasn’t watching sports, Scott could often be found enjoying a good old action movie or western.

Survivors include his mother, Rose Anne Rutan of Chesterfield, SC; children, Cory Ray (Kristie) Rutan of Chesterfield, SC, Thomas Scott Rutan of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Thomas James Rutan, Wyatt Adams; brother, Stephen Thomas Rutan of Chesterfield, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
