Sandra "Sandy" Kay Funderburk

            Mrs. Sandra “Sandy” Kay Funderburk, age 75, entered into rest on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at her home with her loving family by her side. A Celebration of Life Service will be 6:00 PM Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Spring Hill Baptist Church, 2245 Old Camden Hwy. Lancaster, SC. The family will greet friends from 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM Tuesday, prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.

          Mrs. Funderburk was born November 29, 1947 in Baileysville, WV a daughter of the late Luther and Minnie Lester Browning. She was a seamstress with Browning T’s for over 30 years and a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church. Sandy loved the Lord and her family, and was faithful to read her bible. In her earlier years, she enjoyed riding horses. A lady who was the matriarch of her family, Sandy enjoyed cooking and having all of her family together. Above all else, her greatest title was “Maw-Maw” to her grandchildren.

          In addition to her parents, Mrs. Funderburk was also preceded in death by her sisters, Juanita “Carol” Glover, Marsha Browning, and Dorothy Browning; and brothers, Noah James “Bud” Browning, and Delbert Gene “Gene-O” Browning.

          Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Randy Hal Funderburk; children, Lisa Hancock, Tammy Funderburk Wright, Tim (Kim) Funderburk, Sissy (James) Price, Clint Funderburk, Angela (Jason) Newell, and Candice (Sean) Ellis; grandchildren, Amanda (TJ) Whitaker, Brittney Funderburk, Mathew Nelson, Chasidy (Matt) Honeycutt, Robby (Amanda) Perry, Randall Perry, Jared Wilson, Hailey (Eric) Caskey, Kassie Sherbert, Chelsea Price, Will Sherbert, Brooke Price, Axl Funderburk, Knox Ellis, Miranda Newell, and Emory Ellis; 15 very loved great grandchildren; siblings, Roger (Sylvia) Browning, Ronnie (Trish) Browning, Tim (Donna) Browning, Teddy (Betty) Browning, and Mark (Deb) Browning; and numerous nieces and nephews.
