Sandra Lee Blake

Sandra Lee Blake, age 80, passed away on February 23, 2026, in Pineville, North Carolina. She was born on July 6, 1945, in Dayton, Ohio, to Wanda Jean Smith and James Herbert Davidson.

Sandra devoted many years of her life to being a loving homemaker, raising her three children with care, strength, and deep faith. Later, she spent several years working as a paralegal in family law, where her compassion and understanding  were evident to all she served.

Above all, Sandra had a true passion for teaching and preaching the Word of God. She cherished every opportunity to minister to others and lived her life as a servant to those in need. After retiring to Ansonville, North Carolina, she volunteered as an assistant chaplain at Stanley Hospital in Albemarle. This role brought her great joy, as she was able to offer prayer, comfort, and hope to those facing difficult moments. 

Sandra was a good listener with a feisty spirit, a quick sense of humor, and an unwavering faith. She will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. 

She is survived by her children, Wanda Starks, Lonnie Grose (Debbie), and Darrin Grose (Julie), along with her grandchildren who were the joy of her life. She is also survived by her sister Peggy Spreher and brother Chris Morley. 

She was preceded in death by her father, James Herbert Davidson; her mother, Wanda Jean Morley; her first husband Lonnie Grose and second husband, Harmon Blake, her granddaughter Kelly Grose. 

Services will be held on February 27, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Sandy Plains Christian Fellowship in Morven, North Carolina, with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
