Sadie Elizabeth Brooks Traskiewics

Sadie Elizabeth Brooks Bonacci Traskiewics, 96, of Rockwell, NC, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury, NC.

She was born April 30, 1924, in Chesterfield, SC, to the late Walter and Effie Davis Brooks. Sadie worked for many years as Barium Monitor and Controller at Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. in Stratford, CT. She and her husband, Andy retired to Rockwell with her son, Bobby. She was a member of Crown Pointe Baptist Church in Kannapolis, NC. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, baking, and crossword puzzles. Sadie was one of a kind and will be sorely missed by family, friends, and caregivers.

In addition to her parents and twelve siblings, Sadie was preceded in death by her former husband, John Bonacci, Sr., and their children, Robert Bonacci and John Bonacci, Jr. Sadie was also preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Traskiewics.

Sadie is survived by her daughter, Maria (Raymond) Gaines and their children, Raymond Jr., Ryan, and Raymond III. In addition to grandchildren, Sadie is survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, December 11, 2020, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell, NC.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 12, 2020, in Crown Pointe Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC, with Pastor Gene Beaver officiating.

Burial will take place Saturday, December 12, 2020, at 3:00 PM in David's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Chesterfield, SC.
