Sadie "Rebecca" Watson

Marshville, NC

          Mrs. Sadie Rebecca Watson, age 74, entered into rest on Saturday morning, December 30, 2023 at her daughter’s home with her family by her side. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Philadelphia Baptist Church by Pastor Caroll Anthony and Reverend Joey Rowell with burial to follow in the Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland. The family will greet friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM Tuesday, prior to the service at the church.

          Mrs. Watson was born August 20, 1949 in High Point, NC a daughter of the late James Otis and Elizabeth Krimminger Riggins. She was a retired Transportation Professional from Union County School District with over 25 years of service and a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church. Beyond her professional endeavors, she had a passion for artistic expression and found joy in crafting and painting. In her leisure time, she enjoyed traveling to both the beach and mountains with her family. However, nothing brought Mrs. Watson more happiness than being "Maw-Maw" to her beloved grandchildren.

          In addition to her parents, Mrs. Watson was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Sandra Beth Riggins, and sister, Shari Jo Roscoe.

          Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Calvin Watson of the home; children, Laura Horton (John), Jamey Watson (Angie) both of Jefferson, SC, Becky (Darron) Deese of Lancaster, SC, and Kimberly (Cody) Funderburk of Pageland, SC; grandchildren, Zan Horton, Ashley Watson, Ansley Watson, Cameron Deese, Trey Deese, Madison Bare, Aidan Bare, Ethan Bare, Colton Funderburk, and Thatcher Funderburk; sister, Karen Baker of Marshville, NC; and her treasured best friend & lap companion, “Tiny.”
