Ruth Wallace Mills

Pageland, SC

Mrs. Ruth Wallace Mills, age 83, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday evening, July 7, 2022 at her home with her family by her side. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Lighthouse Baptist Church by Pastor Josh Russell, Pastor Steven Aldridge, and Pastor Gary Blalock with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 3:00 – 4:00 PM Sunday prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.

Mrs. Mills was born September 28, 1938 in Pageland, SC a daughter of the late Hoyle and Edna Price Wallace. She was a former hair dresser and a faithful member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. A lady whose heart and home were always open to children, whether kin or not, Mrs. Ruth treated everyone as her own family. Whether addressed as Maw-Maw Ruth or Granny, there was no question you were loved, cared for, and made to eat something while visiting her home. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, canning, and working word search puzzles.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mills was also preceded in death by her husband, Dillon W. Mills; children, Tony Lynn Mills, and Wendy Carol Mills; son-in-law, Craig Tadlock; sister, Shirley Deason; and brothers, Pete Wallace, and John Price.

Survivors include her son, Ralph (Brenda) Mills of Mt. Croghan, SC; daughter, Libby Tadlock of Pageland, SC; 7 grandchildren, Tracy (Kelley) Tadlock of Pageland, SC, Daniel (Cristy) Tadlock of Monroe, NC, Crystal (Rev. Steven) Aldridge of Conestee, SC, Amanda (Will) Rollins of Darlington, SC, Rev. David (Whitney) Roscoe of Chesterfield, SC, Anthony Mills of Pageland, SC, and Matthew (Miriam) Roscoe of Ruby, SC; 20 great grandchildren, Kali, Harleigh, Bailey, Claire, Kinley, Spencer, Edan, Elea, Seth, Lydia, Haven, McKinley, Aubrey, Emma, Bo, Alivia, Luke, Savana, Brody, and Mia; brothers-in-law, Woodrow (Sally) Mills of Pageland, SC, and Hubert “Buddy” (Mary) Mills of Monroe, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express a very special thank you to the staff of Regency SouthernCare Hospice for the extraordinary care provided to Mrs. Ruth during her sickness. A special thank you to caregivers, Danielle Boyd, Beverly Vaughn, Julie Sims, Chaplain Tony Clark, Heather Wallace, Michelle Herron, Dulan Mills, and Patsy Mangum for their friendship and care.
