Mrs. Ruth C. Parks, age 73, entered into rest on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. Funeral Services will be 5:00 PM Thursday, April 13, 2017 from the chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Rev. Tommy Gaskin and Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 4:00 – 5:00 PM prior to the service at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

Mrs. Parks was born May 12, 1943 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late Claude Howard Clanton and Eva Mae Gooden Clanton. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Mrs. Parks loved being a grandmother and being a mother to all.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was also preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Clanton.

Survivors include her husband, Malcolm Parks of the home; a daughter, Jackie (Rex) Hodge of Chesterfield, SC; a son, Jack Franklin (Bonnie) Crowley of Hartsville, SC; sister, Mildred C. Cassidy of Chesterfield, SC; 2 grandchildren, Nicole Crowley and Dylan Hodge; and 2 great grandchildren, Morgan and Haley Oliver.

The family requests that memorials be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 1800 Second Loop Rd # 16, Florence SC 29501.
