Ruby Rivers Moore

Chesterfield, SC

          Mrs. Ruby Rivers Moore, age 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 7, 2024 with her daughter by her side. Graveside services will be 2:30 PM Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery officiated by Reverend Jerry C. McManus. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Wednesday at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home. 

          Mrs. Moore was born February 14, 1934 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late Fred C. and Ruth Rivers. She was a graduate of Chesterfield High School, Class of 1953 and a faithful member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Mrs. Ruby was a dedicated caregiver to her mother for many years. She loved her home and family and enjoyed growing her vegetable garden and working in her yards. She also had a special place in her heart for her beloved dogs, “Corky” and “Frances.”

          In addition to her parents, Mrs. Moore was also preceded in death by her husband, John W. Moore; sister, Marolyn Moore; and brother, Jack W. Rivers.

          Survivors include her daughter, Theresa Ann (Mike) Langvardt of Monroe, NC; grandchildren, Bailey (Erich) Straughn of Charlotte, NC, and Brett Langvardt of Monroe, NC; 2 great grandchildren, Caroline Louise Straughn and Julia Anne Straughn; brother, Jimmy (Carolyn) Rivers of Chesterfield, SC; numerous nieces and nephews including special niece and best friend, Twila Rivers (Jerry Shaw) of Chesterfield, SC.
