GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 1:00 PM, Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Westfield Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Cheraw, SC, with Military Honors

VISITATION: 11:30 - 12:30 PM, prior to the service at the funeral home

HISTORY: Mr. McCoig was born July 7, 1940, in Newport, TN a son of the late Troy and Jessie Lee Keys McCoig. He was a retired press metal operator with General Motors with 36 years of service. Ron was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the 82nd Airborne Division, and was a member of the Chesterfield American Legion Post 74. He was a member of Westfield Creek Baptist Church. Ron enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a true "people person". In addition to his parents, Ron was also preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Phyllis Workman McCoig; a son, Dewayne McCoig;, a daughter, Renee McCoig; and by one brother and three sisters.

1 Son: Russell S. (Brandy Cain) McCoig of Chesterfield, SC
4 Grandchildren: Debbie McCoig, Vanessa McCoig, Ronald O'Neal McCoig, and Elisha McCoig.
2 Great Grandchildren: Connor Dewayne McCoig and Nathan Zemba
