Roman S. Bratun

Roman Bratun, 71 of Chesterfield, SC passed away on Saturday March 7, 2026. He was born to the late Stanislaw and Anastazia Bratun. He was born in Scotland and came to the United States in 1957. He lived in Buffalo, NY before settling in Lorain, Ohio.

He was a devoted husband to his wife of 42 years, Janet.

His family was his pride and joy and he cherished every moment spent with them. He was proud of his Polish heritage and many Polish foods and traditions.

After graduating from Southview High School in Lorain, Ohio he served in the U.S. Navy.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Irene Motto and brother Michael Bratun.

Roman is survived by his wife Janet, daughter Jessica (Ron) Wharton of Chesterfield, SC, sons Michael and David of Ohio, brothers Christopher and Stanley Bratun of Ohio, sisters Dana (Walt) Klik and Joanna (John) Findley of Ohio, four grandchildren Paige, Brody, Nate and Everett, and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at the Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church,363 N. Fifth St. Hartsville, SC 29550. The family will greet friends from 10:30 am to 11:00 am prior to the service at the church and following the mass in the church fellowship hall. Friends may also pay their respects at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
