HISTORY: Mr. Purvis was born October 31, 1936 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late Sidney Purvis and Ruth Williams Caulder. He was a retired mechanic with A.O. Smith Water Heaters with over 35 years of service, and a U.S. Army Veteran. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by 1 brother, David Ray Caulder; and 1 sister, Brenda Fincher.

2 Sons: Anthony Purvis of Cheraw, SC, and Ervin (Lynette) Purvis currently serving in Germany, U.S. Army
2 Daughters: Renee Purvis (Robert) Hatcher of Cheraw, SC and Christine Purvis (Scott) Ludlow of Cheraw, SC
And their mother: Tina St. Pierre of Cheraw, SC
6 Grandchildren: Katie Brooke Purvis, Mason Purvis, Jaylen Purvis, Caitlyn Purvis, Nicholas Ludlow, and Garrett Ludlow
1 Sister: Betty Gathings of Hartsville, SC
