Robert "Bob" Jones

Mr. Robert “Bob” Jones, affectionately known as “Sonny” passed away at the age of 85 on Monday, July 20, 2026 at the Rehabilitation Center of Cheraw. In accordance with Mr. Jones wishes, no formal services will be planned.

Born on April 16, 1941 to the late Henry “Bob” Jones and Minnie Lou (Thomas) Jones. Mr. Jones was a graduate of the University of Nebraska, where he earned a bachelors degree. Bob was the owner and operator of Robert Jones Masonry for 50 years. Although a resident of South Carolina for most of his life, his heart was out west, evidenced by his joy of wearing cowboy boots and his many trips to South Dakota. Whether in the mountains, or uniquely carving various wood pieces, Bob was an avid outdoorsman who took advantage of every opportunity to be in the sun. He will be remembered as having a tough personality but always loving his family dearly.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death his siblings, Barbara, Ruth and Charlie; son, Bobby Jones who recently preceded him in death and who is survived by his wife, Lisa McDaniel Jones of Seagrove, NC.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Shelia Annette Jones of Cheraw, SC; children, Robert Shane Jones and Ashley Sunny Jones both of Cheraw, SC;

Gratitude is expressed to the nurses of Mcleod Health Cheraw and to the nurses and staff of the Rehabilitation Center of Cheraw for their exceptional care of Mr. Jones.
