Rhoda Ann Newell Hardin

Jefferson, SC

          Mrs. Rhoda Ann Newell Hardin, age 65, entered into rest on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at her home with her family by her side. Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Thursday, January 12, 2023 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Bishop Jim Outen. The family will greet friends from 6:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

          Mrs. Hardin was born December 8, 1957 in Monroe, NC a daughter of the late Claude Leonard and Alice Christine Helms Newell. She was a former dispatcher with Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office and enjoyed her time at Twisted Mix Flowers & Things delivering flowers and greeting customers. Ann was a member of Southside Ministries and enjoyed crafting and baking. She was known for her cakes, cookies, and delicious desserts.

          In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hardin was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Hardin; daughter, Linda Helms; brother, Robert Lyn Newell; and nephew, Timothy Newell.

          Survivors include her daughter, Lisa (Michael) Culler of Concord, NC; son, Pastor Scott (Judy) Alexander of Jefferson, SC; grandchildren, Chrissy Helms, D.J. Helms, Hailey Davis, Lilly Hendrix, Evie Hendrix, and Connor Davis, Tiffany Price, Anthony Manus, Alex Manus, Falisha Alexander, Airick Alexander, David Hudson, and Jean McCord; great grandchildren, Alley, Araina, Myles, Reagan, Sawyer, Adalyn, Aliza, Korina, Emma, Naomi, Abel, Aydan, Damien, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Kylie, Nevaeh, and Laken; siblings, Cindy (Tommy) Torrence, Neecie McInvaille both of Pageland, SC, David (Connie) Newell of Kershaw, SC, Jim Newell of Lancaster, SC, Alan (Cindy) Newell of Ruby, SC, Ray (Rebecca) Newell of the Buffalo community; and numerous nieces and nephews.
