Rex William Allen

Mr. Rex William Allen, age 74, entered into rest on Tuesday night, August 25, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, August 29, 2026 from the chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Pastor David Wilks with burial to follow in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Allen was born October 11, 1951 in Mt. Croghan, SC a son of the late James and Mary Lee Smith Allen. He was a former employee of Hanson Sand and retired from Buckhorn Sand & Gravel. Following his retirement, Rex enjoyed spending a few years as a truck driver. He also enjoyed working in his shop and was a proud “Papa” to his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Allen was also preceded in death by his daughter, Crystal Leigh Allen; brothers, Joe Michael Allen and Jimmy Wayne Allen; and nephew, Allen Davis.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene Allen; daughter, Charlotte Locklear of Mt. Croghan, SC; grandchildren, Tyler Locklear (Skylah Porter), Page (Jacob) Riggs, Julian Allen, and Jaylen Allen, and Jacob Laney; great grandchildren, Kingston, Mackenzie, Adeilyn, Houston, and soon to be arriving, Banks; sister, Peggy (Ronnie) Davis of Chesterfield, SC; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
