Reverend Olin D. Parker, age 74, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, January 23, 2021 after a sudden illness. The family is very grateful to God that he was never diagnosed with, nor did he have to suffer with Covid – 19. Graveside services will be 4:00 PM Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery by Pastor Mark Phillips. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery and other times at the home.

Friends may stop by Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home on Tuesday, between the hours of 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM to view and pay their respects.

Due to the continued COVID-19 risks, we ask that you practice social distancing at all times and refrain from any physical contact. The family would like for all attending the service to please wear a face covering.

Reverend Parker was born June 22, 1946 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late Olin and Myrtle Tucker Parker. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a graduate of Ruby High School. Bro. Olin attended Mid-Atlantic Bible College and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. In 1982, he accepted the call on his life to preach the Gospel. He pastored Antioch Baptist of Jefferson, Victory Baptist of Monck’s Corner, Oak Street Baptist of Pageland, and was the interim pastor of North Cheraw Baptist Church. In later years, Bro. Olin enjoyed helping pastors and churches when needed. His heart was telling others the good news of Jesus Christ and pointing them to their need of a Savior. He was a true family man who enjoyed spending time with his grandson. Bro. Olin enjoyed watching football and following politics on Fox News.

In addition to his parents, Reverend Parker was also preceded in death by his brother, William H. “Bill” Parker.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 51 years, Ruth Curtis Parker of the home; daughter, Tina Parker (Jay) Saffel of Laurinburg, NC; grandson, Curtis Parker (Sherry) Boatwright; sister, Sue (Gerald) Jordan of Mt. Croghan, SC; sister-in-law, Bonnie Turner Parker of Chesterfield, SC; nieces, Brandi Parker Johnson of Hartsville, SC, and Charlotte Parker Goforth of TN; nephews, John Jordan, and Richard Jordan both of Mt. Croghan, SC.
