Rev. Johnny Mack Melton

Rev. Johnny Mack Melton, age 75, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 in the chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Tommy Moser and Pastor Ricky “Sweet” Jenkins with burial to follow in the High Point Baptist Church Cemetery in Pageland, SC . The family will receive friends and visitors one hour prior to the service at the  chapel.

Rev. Melton was born on June 19, 1950 in Chesterfield, SC; a son of the late Tyson and Margaret Melton. He was a member of Twin Pines Freewill Baptist Church; for many years he enjoyed preaching and serving the Lord as an assistant pastor. Additionally, Rev. Melton found solace with being outside in nature, where he would often be found fishing and deer hunting. He spent most of his working career at Combraco Industries from which he later retired.

In addition to his parents, Rev. Melton was preceded in death by his wife Emma Jean Melton; brothers, Tony Melton, Vernon Melton; sisters, Ann Sowell and Edna Jean O’Neal.

Survivors include his children, Johnny Chad Melton of Jefferson, SC and Sharon Thompson of Pageland, SC; grandchildren, Drake (Kylie Hendrix) Melton of Jefferson, SC; Johnathan (Brianna Blackmon) Melton of Jefferson, SC; Emily (Austin Wallace) Thompson of Pageland, SC; great-grandchildren, Colton Arant, Chelsea Wallace; and soon to be arriving, baby Waylon; brothers, Wayne (Beth) Melton, Don (Kay) Melton; sisters, Marie (Steven) Butler, Arlene (Jackie) McCaskil.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Twin Pines Freewill Baptist Church, 69 Twin Pines Church Rd, Jefferson, SC 29718.
