Rachel Roberson Savage

Mrs. Rachel Roberson Savage, age 76, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at her home. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Jefferson Baptist Church by her son, Pastor Scott Savage with the eulogy being delivered by long-time friend, Joe Hatley. The committal service will follow in the Jefferson Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM Tuesday, prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Savage was born May 6, 1946 in Spindale, NC a daughter of the late Edgar and Gertrude Clements Roberson. A graduate of Alexander High School, Mrs. Savage attained her associates degree in secretarial studies from King’s College of Charlotte, NC. She retired as a customer service representative in the banking industry, and was a faithful and supportive pastor’s wife for many years. She was a member of Brookdale Baptist Church of Kannapolis, NC where she served for many years as church pianist, youth leader, WMU leader, and in various other capacities through the years. Rachel enjoyed shopping and working with crafts. A lady who was the true matriarch of her family, Mrs. Savage treasured her time spent with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was reunited in heaven to her beloved husband, the Reverend Dr. Kenneth Edward Savage.

Survivors include her sons, Eddie (Lynette) Savage of Jefferson, SC, and Pastor Scott (Amanda) Savage of Faith, NC; grandchildren, Jake, Hope, Hailey, Emma, and Anna Savage; brother, James (Terri) Roberson of Forest City, NC.
