Mrs. Polly Dixon McKenzie, age 84, entered into rest on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at her home. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Edwards Chapel Baptist Church by Rev. Johnny Quick and Rev. Robert Turner with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 PM until noon on Wednesday at the home, 496 Gunn Mill Road, Patrick, SC.

Mrs. McKenzie was born September 25, 1934 in Hartsville, SC a daughter of the late Dave and Rosalee Braddock Dixon. She was a retired employee of Cheraw Yarn Mills with over 20 years of service. Mrs. McKenzie enjoyed worshipping the Lord at Edwards Chapel Baptist Church and Children’s Baptist Church. A Godly, Christian lady, Polly was a devoted prayer warrior who called all of her family and friends by name in prayer each day.

In addition to her parents, Polly was also preceded in death by her husband, Jackie McKenzie; 3 sons, H.L. “Boo” Truett, Randy Truett, and Jerry Truett; and 3 brothers, Dave Dixon, Jr., Bobby Dixon, and Ralph “Bo” Dixon.

Survivors include her daughters, Elaine (Dean) Starling of Hamlet, NC, Joann (John) Lynn of Patrick, SC, and Betty Ingram of the home; son, Jimmy (Tracy) Truett of Hamlet, NC; 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; brothers, Hollis Dixon and Buck Dixon both of Patrick, SC; sister, Juanita Dixon of Patrick, SC; and her beloved dog, “Tripp.”

The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of McLeod Hospice for the love and care shown to Mrs. McKenzie and her family.
