Mr. Pleasant Fletcher Morris, age 78, entered into rest on Tuesday, September 21, 2021. Graveside services with military honors will be 1:00 PM Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery by Rev. Charles Teal. The family will greet friends following the service. Graveside services will be streamed live on the Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Facebook page.

Mr. Morris was born August 23, 1943 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late Fletcher Eugene and Edna Vaughn Morris. A Navy veteran, Fletcher enlisted in September of 1963 and was honorably discharged in September of 1967. During his time of service, Fletcher received a commendation for his service while deployed in the South China Sea. Following his service in the Navy, he had a career in law enforcement as a Corrections Officer with the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Department as well as becoming a Lieutenant with the Chesterfield Police Department. Fletcher was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church, loved his goats, his tractor, and going fishing.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Morris was also preceded in death by his brother, Gilbert L. Morris, and his sister, Nina Rivers.

Survivors include his brother, William Perry “Tee” Morris, of Chesterfield, SC; sister, Shirley Smith, of Chesterfield, SC; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
