Peggy Jean Caulder Harding, passed away on January 29, 2024, at the age of 76 at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service Crematorium Chapel officiated by Rev. Richard Tyson and Phillip Caulder, Jr.  Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 – 3:00 PM prior to the service.

Born on March 22, 1947, in Anson County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Phillip “PC” Caston Caulder, Sr., and Miriam Campbell Caulder.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Howard Harding of the home; her children, Allison Harding Blevins of Hampton, VA, and Stephen Harding of Laurinburg; her granddaughter, Eva Mackenzie Blevins of Hampton, VA; her grand-dog, Theo, also of Hampton; her siblings, Phillip C. Caulder, Jr. (Yetive) and Sissy Adams (Harold), both of Chesterfield, SC, and her brothers-in-law, Terry Thompson of Florence, SC and Cotton Dixon of Chesterfield, SC. Peggy was preceded in death by her siblings, Patricia Caulder Thompson and Penny Caulder Dixon.

Peggy's life was marked by her unwavering support for her family in all their endeavors.  In 1996, a back injury unfortunately sidelined Peggy, and by 2000, she stopped working outside of the home due to her disability.

Her interests were as rich and varied as her love for life. Peggy enjoyed shopping and embarking on bus trips, wrestling, exploring new places, and embracing the joy of travel. She was a familiar face at Scotland High School basketball games.  Peggy was also an avid reader and she delighted in the challenge of crosswords puzzles.  Her love extended to her church family, where she found spiritual nourishment and a community of faith that was dear to her heart.  Above all, Peggy's love for her family was boundless, particularly for her son Stephen and her granddaughter Eva, who brought her much joy.

Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium is assisting the Harding family.
