Mrs. Patti D. Chavis, age 69, entered into rest on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at her home. A Celebration of Life service will be 3:00 Sunday, September 20, 2026 in the chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Pastor Danny Chavis and Brent Taylor. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Jerry and Denise Douglass.

Mrs. Chavis was born December 13, 1956, in Chesterfield, SC the daughter of the late Rayson Levene and Hazel Rivers Davis. Patti devoted her life to education and making a difference in the lives of others. She began her career as a bus driver before earning her master’s degree from Francis Marion University. Following her graduation, Patti dedicated more than 30 years to teaching, touching the lives of countless students along the way.

In retirement, Patti loved spending time outdoors, watching the hummingbirds and admiring her beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed playing games on her computer and spending her days doing the things she loved most.

In addition to her parents, Patti was preceded in death by her brother, Rayson Levene Davis, Jr.; and infant brother, James Frank Davis.

Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Zeke Chavis of the home; daughter, Leigh Ann Parker of Chesterfield, SC; grandson, Joshua Parker of Chesterfield, SC; nieces, Jamie Maynard of Wallace, SC, Elizabeth DeBessonet of Columbia, SC; nephew, Brandon Douglass of N.H.; loving aunt, Madge Rivers of Chesterfield, SC; cousins, Denise (Jerry) Douglass of Chesterfield, SC, and Tammy Brooks Hatley of N.C.
