Otis Dewitt Livingston, 68, of North, S. C. passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Livingston United Methodist Church, 1328 Silver Springs Road, Livingston, S.C. 29107 with Rev. Jim Smyrl officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, one hour prior to the service at the church.

Dewitt was born in Columbia, S. C., a son of the late Harvey Heyward Livingston, Sr. and the late Josephine Kirkland Livingston.  He served as part time Pastor of the Springfield, Salley and Neeses United Methodist Church Charge.  Dewitt was co-owner of North-South Wood Preserving. He was appointed to the Aiken Electric Cooperative Board of Trustee in March of 1989 where he served for over 34 years, serving as Board President from 2015 to 2022.  Additionally, He was on the AEC Executive Committee, ECSC, CEEUS and Central Electric Boards.  In 2022 Governor Henry McMaster awarded Dewitt with the Order of the Palmetto.  The award is the highest civilian honor bestowed upon South Carolina citizens and is presented to South Carolinians that demonstrate extraordinary lifetime achievement, service, and contributions to the state.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Jane L. Livingston; daughter, Erica L. (Jason) Richardson; three grandchildren, Harrison, Isla Grace and Eli Richardson; sisters, Joann Martin and Debra (Irvin) Williams; sister-in-law, Renee Livingston and a number of nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his brother, Heyward Livingston and a brother-in-law, Wildon Martin.

Pallbearers will be nephews Tim Martin, Jason Williams, Adam Livingston, Harvey Livingston, Everette Livingston, and Wesley Livingston.

Honorary pallbearers will be all former, retired, and current members of the Aiken Electric Coop. Board of Trustees, CEO, Chairman of the Board and Lynn West.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of South Carolina Oncology and his home health nurse, Angie, for their dedicated care.
