Mr. Michael Dean Watts, age 66, entered into rest on Sunday, June 21, 2026 at Atrium Health Cabarrus with his family by his side. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at the chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home with Mr. Jason Terry officiating, with burial to follow in the Elizabeth Baptist Church Cemetery. The visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 between the hours of 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Watts was born on January 31, 1960 in Monroe, NC. He was a son of the late Charles and Ruth Faulkenberry Horne. Mr. Watts honorably served in the United States Coast Guard. Michael enjoyed being outside and could often be found working in his building, riding a tractor or sightseeing while cruising around town. His grandchildren were the apple of his eye. Michael had a great fondness for all “junk food”, especially Little Debbie cakes, diet Mountain Dews, and cheeseburgers.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Watts was preceded in death by his pre-born siblings, Teresa Horne, Gerald Horne, and Charles Horne.
Survivors include his children, Logan (Amber) Watts of Hartsville, SC; Laci (Bobby) Turner of Chesterfield, SC; and their mother and dear friend of Micheals, Denise Watts; grandchildren, Payton Watts, Levi Watts, Colt Watts, Willow Watts, Emery White, Rhett Turner; special aunt, Carolyn Russell; special cousin, Tammy Griffin and David Russell; in addition to numerous other cousins, aunts, uncles and extended family and friends.
