Michael "Mike" Timothy Johnson

Mr. Michael “Mike” Timothy Johnson, age 70, passed away at his home on the evening of May 11, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM Friday, May 15, 2026 at Bay Springs Baptist Church by Pastor Tracy Gooding with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 4:00 – 5:00 PM Friday, prior to the service at the church and at other times at the home.

Mr. Johnson was born July 17, 1955 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late A.L. and Gloria Davis Johnson. He was a graduate of Chesterfield High School and a member of Bay Springs Baptist Church. Mike was a former employee of Crown Cork & Seal with over 25 years of service and a retired employee of INA Bearing. A life-long farmer, Mike owned and operated Johnson & Son farms of Chesterfield. Above all his accomplishments in life, Mike cherished his role as “Pa” to his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was also preceded in death by his beloved aunt who helped to raise him, Sybil Roscoe.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Sue Johnson of the home; children, Jennifer Johnson, Brian (Stephanie) Johnson both of Chesterfield, SC, Summer (Prentice) Nuttall of Wallace, SC, and Josh Johnson of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Dustin (Gabby) Rayfield, Savannah Johnson, Alex Johnson, Reid Johnson, and Gunner Nuttall; and great-grandson, Hudson Stuart Rayfield; sister, Sherry (Wesley) Teal of Chesterfield, SC; nieces, Madison (CJ Crowley) Teal, and Skyler Teal (Jackson Hargett).
